Snoop Dogg & Cordell Broadus set their eyes on bringing minority & hip hop stories to the world of gaming via Death Row Games & Good Game Champ. Sand Studios had the absolute honour to work alongside the Snoop Dogg IP to create a Snoop themed Deathrun game mode within Fortnite.

Snoop Dogg Deathrun takes players on a journey that are effectively vignettes of all things that Snoop loves, whileo listening to and enjoy some music from the Death Row Records vaults. From a Doggystyle album themed course, to an LA Lakers themed Basketball course, players will face different parkour & deathrun style gameplay challenges within different themed worlds.

We've been working alongside Coachella, the leading festival for music and art, in two facets. On one side, we've been working alongside them on producing and strategy to leverage their 'Coachella Island' as a place for curation that other developers can share their work within. Strategizing ways to engage the Fortnite Creative Community and get them excited about Coachella wanting to be part of this space in a more deeper, meaningful way than any other brand has attempted.

In addition to this, we've developed a custom mini-game for Coachella that took art direction from their Discord community that created unique AI generated art to influence the base of our design. This method helps merge together art, music and now gaming in a beautiful way that only Coachella could pull off. Our custom experience, Technicolor Tropic is a 12 player, non-violent mini-game where players compete to collect music notes for score whilst avoiding falling in the sand pit. Set in the midst of a neon tropical desert oasis with nods to key Coachella visuals like Spectra, the wheel and art park.

Working alongside EPIC Games & Interscope records, we were tasked with bringing the song 'curious/furious' by WILLOW to life within Fortnite.
​
This was a unique challenge for us that we faced head on, as up until this point everything we have developed has been gameplay focused. With this project however, we had to mix elements of gameplay into a theatrical experience that tied in with the song and artist.
​
We believe we've perfectly met the brief here and managed to create an experience that feels extremely brand new, alluring and as powerful as the song itself. With the song having such a strong message, we wanted to portray those emotions and feelings within this experience and managed to create a wonderful sense of duality and choices between light/dark that the player makes to influence the experience they will witness.
​
Since launch, the experience has been met with heaps of positive reviews from fans of the artists music, to general Fortnite players and even Interscope themselves were highly impressed with the end product.

We were commissioned by EPIC Games to create an experience that encourages social engagement & friend requests.
​
Upon receiving this brief, along with the KPIs they wanted to achieve, we immediately came up with the concept of The Cruise. We felt this was the most perfect environment for new players to be easily exposed to one another in captivated space. The ship was designed to be open, flowing and fun to increase the chances of social interaction between players no matter which section they decide to hang out on.

This Creative experience not only contained tons of activities and mini-games on the ship itself, we managed to also create a feeling that players are on a genuine cruise ship as it 'stops' every few minutes at various islands where players can choose to get off and play more elaborate mini-games. These include: Treasure hunt inside a abandoned mine cave, Meal Prep on a deserted Island, Hot Collection within a Volcano Excursion + more!

This experience did extremely well & most prominently achieved its KPIs as it entered the Top 10 Friend Accepts per hour after the first week of release.

Reset Nation - A Gaming Consultancy (Clients such as Cloud9, Misfits Gaming + more) hired us to re-create & re-imagine their London based office within Fortnite Creative.
They wanted a space that was uncanny & familiar in respect to their actual office space, but was also inspired by future dreams of having multiple floors with different functions such as a large Board Room, a Bar, Games Room/Lounge as well as their own Gym!
​
This space would act as an alternative to Zoom Meetings for them, while the Pandemic was in full effect. It allowed them to host both internal and external meetings within a fun and familiar space while also acting as an introduction to Fortnite Creative for any prospective clients interested in entering the metaverse.
