Coachella's annual festival just ended recently, but the masters at curating art and music at this incredible world-renowned festival are continuing their efforts in the virtual world. As far as brand integrations go, there hasn't been any previous ones that have had the forward-thinking approach that Coachella has had. Though, there's only a handful of brands that have the ability to approach an integration in this way.
The brand launched 'Coachella Island' recently, as their pivotal virtual world where the weekend never ends, where gamers and fans alike can jump into this Fortnite world to continue enjoying the allure of this festival. This massive map, expertly made by Alliance Studios, features the Spectra Building, the Ferris Wheel, an Art Park as well as many cool mini-games and places to explore.
However, they didn't want to end it just there. Coachella have announced that they want to feature games created by the Fortnite community, as a means to integrate themselves as curators of great UGC experiences within Fortnite. This is huge news for Fortnite developers as it gives them a new avenue to gain exposure on their games while also getting the promotion and nod from a globally renowned brand that is Coachella.
Having worked with Sand Studios' very own AJ on this grassroots idea, this initial community scheme has been branded 'Coachella Picks' and a submission form for creators is live now on their website. Further to this, Sand Studios have worked with Coachella to create the very first Coachella Picks game which visible within 'Coachella Island' for fans to play. The game Sand Studios developed was visually inspired by the winning submission from Coachella's Discord community who were tasked with creating some unique artistic imagery. This truly marries art, music and now gaming all together in this very natural and unique way.
